Description

This Cache is an amateur radio APRScache, along with being an EarthCache, too.  For ham radio operators, the geology portion of the cache is optional. To log the APRScache, simply log the location with your APRS-enabled radio at the EarthCache GPS coordinates.

Optionally, you can also log the EarthCache, which teaches more about the geology of the metamorphic rocks in the Western Sierra Nevada Metamorphic Belt, in Calaveras County, California. The rocks observed are in the Foothills terrane and earthcachers will walk close to an outcrop of "tombstone rocks", make estimates of the attitude of the rocks observed, similar to what a geologist might do when making a geologic map.
