This Cache is an amateur radio APRScache, along with being an EarthCache, too. For ham radio operators, the geology portion of the cache is optional. To log the APRScache, simply log the location with your APRS-enabled radio at the EarthCache GPS coordinates.
Optionally, you can also log the EarthCache, which teaches more about what a geological "roof pendant" is. Cape Horn is located on Highway 4, east of Bear Valley and Lake Alpine, west of Mosquito Lake and Pacific Grade Summit, in the Stanislaus National Forest. The EarthCache is located on the upper slopes of a glaciated valley, overlooking a portion of the drainage of the North Fork of the Stanislaus River. The road is closed during winter months and radio/cell service is limited.
