There are many stories, myths and legends existing about the Mieminger Schatzstein. Mysterious incidents made the pine forest above the Mieminger Mooswiesen to a mysterious area.

The most famous legend is about the treasure of stone:

Under the boulder in the middle of the pine forest is a great treasure buried. Only a virgin can raise the treasure if she comes to the stone at night dressed in a shirt and raises a lighted candle in her hand. She may not extinguish the candle and say a prayer. This is the only way the Virgin can move the stone as if by magic to the side.
