Description

This is another in my sadly ongoing series of Scillonian geocaches that were needlessly archived.  It was recently brought to my attention that this 15 year old cache is still in place.  https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCNC24_birdmans-cottage

The cache Birdman's Cottage was originally hidden by NoPuffin on 5th April 2005 and has had 358 finds since then.  We found it on 11th April 2014.

The cache is hidden on top of Samson Hill, with fantastic views in all directions.  Although the original cache page doesn't explain the cache's name, it is inspired by Michael Morpurgo's 1985 book, Why the Whales Came and its film adaptation When the Whales Came.  The strange "Birdman", played in the film by Paul Scofield, once lived on Samson Hill.

Please replace the cache carefully as this spot is often visited.
